Member of the Union of artists of the USSR. Honored artist of the RSFSR (1965), winner of the Gasudarstvennaya prize of the USSR. He was buried at the cemetery Vagankovsky.
He graduated from the VGIK (1949). Worked at K-art "Mosfilm". Participated in the formulation of K.-f. "Taras Shevchenko" (1951, with L. A. Shengelia), "the Commander of the ship" (1954), "ballad of a soldier" (1959), and chistoe nebo (1961), "Beware of the car" (1966), "Gentlemen of fortune" (1972), "Afonya" (1975), "Mimino" (1978), etc. Winner of St. St. (1952).
