Efim Efimovich Volkov (March 23 (April 4) 1844, St. Petersburg - February 17, 1920, Petrograd) – Russian artist-Peredvizhnik, a master of lyrical landscape.

Features of the artist Yefim Volkova: colleagues and the audience appreciated Volkov for his ability to infuse poetry into discreet types of forests and streams, for the quiet contemplation of the author, which in unassuming, everyday, even boring landscapes suddenly appear the grandeur and solemnity; the artist is particularly interested in the changeability of nature – he was attracted by the nascent dawn slowly appearing in the sky sunset colors, frosts, and not a manifestation of the elements.

Efim Volkov learned the craft at the Drawing school Society for the encouragement of artists and the Academy of arts, but gained skills and found the handwriting in the result of hard work – he was constantly writing sketches, preferring to professors and teaching classes in nature.

The drawing school he was admitted only at the age of 22, having to work in the office of the Ministry of justice, and finished it a year (instead of four).
