Painter, honored. hood. Of the RSFSR. He graduated from the Moscow school of painting (1915). Lived and worked in Moscow. Participant of exhibitions since 1915. Multi-ist. and genre paintings, portraits, landscapes, still lifes - "self-Portrait in a raincoat and hat" (1921), "the Entry of the red Army in Krasnoyarsk" (1923), "Dahlias in the background of the bouquet" (1950), etc.

1889 Yaransk, Vyatka province - 1975 Moscow he Studied at the Kazan art school N. And. Feshin (1908 - 1912), Moscow school of painting by A. E. Arkhipov, L. O. Pasternak (1913 - 1915). Since 1915 participated in exhibitions. Member of the Association AHRR-AChRs (1923 - 1929).

Since 1915 participated in exhibitions. The author of the painting "the Entry of the red Army in Krasnoyarsk." Work N.M. Nikonov was exhibited in 1923 in new York, in 1930 in Venice, Zurich and Bern, in 1932 – at the Venice Biennale. Works of the artist are in the Tretyakov gallery and other museums.
