Honored artist of the RSFSR. Member of the Union of artists of the USSR. Portraitist, landscape painter. Author of several works on historical and revolutionary themes, books about astronauts. Public figure. On his initiative and active participation established in the homeland in Dankov folk art gallery in 1968. Born in 1916 in the village of upper-Pavlivka (now Dankovsky region) in Lipetsk region. Studied in the 1933-1936 years. in the Moscow art College Ohisa in 1936-1942 he was at the Moscow art Institute from I. E. Grabar, S. V. Gerasimov, G. M. Segala, V. V. Pochitalova. Participant of art exhibitions since 1939. Major works: "the Storming of Sevastopol", together with p. P. Sokolov-Skal (1957, RM), Aurora (1960, Museum of fine arts of the Karelian ASSR), "the Landers are built" (1965, Dankowski national gallery), "Sorge" (1965, Dankowski national gallery), "Winter is taken" (1967, Dankowski national gallery), "the Kulikovo field" (1971, CX USSR), "Portrait of E. Petushkova" (1971, Dankowski national gallery), "peoples of the World" (1972, GIM), "Portrait of Tereshkova" (1975, MK RSFSR), "Portrait of N. E. Berzarin, the first commandant of Berlin" (1975, CX USSR), the triptych "Yuri Gagarin" (1976, MK RSFSR).

Honored artist of the RSFSR. Cavalier Of The Order "Badge Of Honor". Honorary citizen of the city Dankova.

In 1936, on the recommendation of Igor Grabar accepted the painting Department of the Moscow State Art Institute. V. I. Surikov, who graduated in 1942 at the Studio of Professor G. M. Segala (thesis "M. V. Frunze and the VI Chapaev Ufa").

In 1943-1944 in the composition of the Art studios of the Main political Directorate of the border troops leaving for the front: Kursk, Odessa, Sevastopol. In 1947, demobilized from the red army.

Famous throughout the Soviet Union A. I. Platnova brought the paintings on the theme of space and the first Soviet cosmonaut "Valentina Tereshkova" (1975), triptych of Y. A. Gagarin, who visited the artist's Studio in 1965 ("Before start", "native land", "Happiness of mother").

The result of creative trips to Italy (1956), Syria and Lebanon (1957), England (1961), Brazil (1962), Japan and India (1963), FRG (1968), Spain (1977) began a series of paintings that focused on these countries.

Solo exhibitions were held in Moscow (1993), Duncan (1976, 1991).

Works are in the Museum of Fine Arts of Karelia, Dankowski art gallery, regional art museums of the former USSR.
