Painter, honored. hood. Of the RSFSR (1934). Studied in MUZHVZ (1883-93, with a break) and Ilya Repin (1894-96). He lived in Moscow. The paintings on the East.-roar. themes, portraits, "9 Jan 1905", "on vacation" (1923), etc.

He received his artistic education at the Moscow school of painting, sculpture and architecture, from which he graduated in the rank of class artist. One of the first serious works of V. N. Bee - "Young in-law" (1892) - immediately brought fame to the young artist, and was acquired for the collection of P. Tretyakov. For some time he studied at the Imperial Academy of Arts in Repin's Studio.

Prior to 1917, wrote mainly genre scenes of contemporary reality. Participated in exhibitions of the Peredvizhniki group. The October Revolution changed the Outlook of the artist and he turned his creativity to the historical-revolutionary genre: "9 Jan 1905", "the Execution of Stepan Razin", "the assassination Attempt on Lenin August 30, 1918", "Before October". Soviet audiences became most famous painting "the Execution of Alexander Ulyanov" and "all-Union Congress of collective farm was the guest of the red Army", which were widely published in magazines and school textbooks.

Works VN. The bee represented in the collections of the State Russian Museum, State Tretyakov Gallery.
