Drawing since childhood, but seriously started painting at the age of 23 after meeting with a wonderful sculptor Irina Ivanova-Radkevich and her husband, the painter Nikolai Osipenko.
From 1987 participates in several exhibitions of the Creative Association “Medvedkovo” Association of Creative Youth of Moscow, NNUK “Union Creativity”.

Boris Samusev - working in the theatre, driller, geologist, carpenter, artist. He was born in Moscow fifty years ago. Worked a lot, traveled around the country, raising daughters, so that the drawing time, he was not so much. That's why our favorite artist Arkady Petrov once called him “the Sunday painter”. But Boris tried. The first work - landscapes-impressions, brought back from wandering in the country, nostalgically domestic revelation, the romantic-fantastic images - soon tired of the artist. He wanted “strange”. Time unlocking a craving for creativity, the search for a new artist as a person, found the strength and courage sufficient to penetrate into the secrets of the foundations of the Universe. He is looking for primordial, origins - where it went. All of this led our author to work in the technique of “contour abstraction”, i.e. to work with localized bright colored spots.
Boris studied at the Moscow topographical Polytechnic, then in Correspondence Polytechnic Institute. From 1979 to 1991 worked at the Novaya Zemlya archipelago, conducted geological surveys. When he felt himself a true artist, graduated from the national University of Arts. N. To.Krupskaya. Then, his life has proceeded in two directions. He carefully painted, and in between - to earn a living for himself and his family.
How to call it delights in painting? There is the concept of “opt art” - it seems to bring us closer to understanding this issue. This optical phenomenon effects, the symbiosis of colors, surfaces, shapes, alternating and playing some of his secret game. At the same time, you can call them and impressionism, and surrealism. This exhibition is named Boris - “Prosvetlenie” enlightenment, understanding. Form is learning; color - impression, consciousness. Form - the notion of the material, the color is closer to the concepts of the spiritual. Disgusting, horrible form color can be changed to quite tolerable for the perception or even ridiculous. At the same time form a color sysutils to disgusting. Color - primary, form is secondary.
Boris Samusev went on the difficult way of abstracting images and ideas, realities and fantasies, feelings and sensations. Decorative plane othernote frames, they can be opened, continue in all directions in space and time, because before us is only a small part of the infinite world. Compositions are multi-valued, their language is untranslatable, but distinct, like the language of music.
At one of the exhibitions held in regional exhibition hall, as the audience was attended by a group of kids preschoolers - kindergartners. Surprisingly, or maybe just naturally, children are not passed by the artist's works. They carefully examined the pictures, discussing, arguing. The children were not indifferent, they are n o n I m a l and felt that opened the way to another world through a canvas and paint...
In our world, the world of the elements, and peace in the world and untouched by civilization places, is a place of harmony, harmony with the world around him.
