Karlovich Silins

Russia • 1926−2001

Painter. Member of the Union of artists of the USSR.

He studied at the Latvian art school of Elchingen at F. E. Bang, Y. Kuga, and L. Liberti (1946 – 48).

After returning to Latvia, he learned the craft of the painter. Long the artist worked in the plant “Māksla”.

In exhibitions he participated since 1946.

His work is exhibited in Riga, Moscow, Japan, Hamburg, Sollentuna (Sweden), Ghent (Belgium), etc.

Personal exhibitions are organized in Riga (1966, 1972, 1981, 1992 – 1994, together with A. Dumpis, 1996, 1999, 2002), Tukums (1966, 1981, 1986, 1991), Ventspils (1966, 1997, 1998, together with K. Siliņš), Jelgava (1966), Jurmala (1966, 1982), Talsi (1974, 1998), Roja (1974), Mersrags (1980), Moscow (1989).

H. E. Silins was a member of the Union of artists since 1960.

The artist has received several awards in contests of works dedicated to the sport and sea, he is also a life fellow KKF (1999).
