Born in the family of the writer, in a house which has been well received by A. White, A. green and M. Voloshin. It is the latter recommended that the N. Sorokina to begin to seriously address zhivopisyu.

Higher education received at the Moscow Art Institute, where he studied under A. A. Osmerkin and I. I. Chekmazova. In the 1950s a significant influence on the creativity of the artist had N. A. Udaltsov.

The theme of the artist's works are diverse: still-lifes, landscapes (experts have highlighted a series devoted to the Crimea), portraits, genre paintings. In still life N.T. Sorokina traced the stylistic proximity of the manner of artists of creative Association "Jack of diamonds".

Personal exhibitions took place in Moscow (1988), Italy (1991), France and Switzerland (1994).

Works are in State Tretyakov Gallery and in private collections in America, France, Germany, Russia.

Was born may 2, 1918 in Tiflis. Her father Tikhon Ivanovich Sorokin was a writer, journalist, art historian, collector of icons for the Tretyakov gallery.

In the adolescent years, the summers she spent with her parents in the Crimea, in Koktebel, and in the famine years alone lived there.

Maximilian Voloshin was a friend of her parents had a great influence on the formation of her personality, as well as the very nature of the Crimea contributed to its appeal to the painting. Even in early youth Voloshin she predicted that she would be an artist.

The theme of the Crimea is in the works Sorokina through her entire life. Later on she had a large influence another friend of her father, A. G. Gabrichevsky.

Sorokin began to paint in the Studio by Mosh from Arjannikova. In 1941 he was accepted into the Institute. V. I. Surikov. Her teachers were I. I. Chekmazov. A. A. and V. V. Osmerkin favorskaya. He graduated from the Institute in 1949.

Since 1950, participation in exhibitions and joining in the MOSH. In 1953 he was expelled from the Moscow Union for "cosmopolitanism", and in 1958 was restored.

In the late 1950s – familiarity with Udaltsova, and then working together.

1954-1974 years - lecturer at the Moscow Polygraphic Institute and the National University of arts.

Work Sorokina are in the state Tretyakov gallery, the Museum in Munich, in private collections in Russia and abroad.
