...Of those inconspicuous Russian artists, for whom art in the beginning of their career was enjoyable leisure activities. Graduated from the natural faculty of Moscow University, he was appointed Privat-docent of the Department of Geology. His interest in painting A. sredine satisfied with a visit to the Moscow school of painting, sculpture and architecture under the guidance of K. A. Korovin and V. A. Serov successfully learned the basics of visual literacy and still deeper into the alluring artistic creativity. Soon, the painting becomes the Middle main activity. He's an Intern in Paris in the workshops of J.-P. Laurens and B. constant, studying European art, travels.

And the main topic of his paintings are interiors known and unknown estates and palaces. From this direction should be called "Room in the Kuskovo estate, the estate of count S. D. Sheremetev", "Polotnyanyy Zavod", "Portrait in the estate of the Goncharov", "Polotnyanyy Zavod", "a Room in the estate Obninsk. Belkino". As a member of many associations of Russian artists involved in the numerous in the early twentieth century exhibitions. His paintings were met with understanding critics. As one of them: "His specialty is portrait rooms. In these portraits he puts his heart. His room live and smell..." Wrote A. V. middle and the interiors are filled with people ("Evening Famusovs", "reading"), and just portraits.

In the first years of Soviet power the artist active. He takes part in exhibitions, sitting in various commissions and councils. Although the artist who wrote the departed noble life, the rapidity and novelty of life in the state, conducting an unprecedented experiment in the world, was not appropriate. So at the end of the 1920s he was in France, where after a few years died tragically.
