Fra Angelico (Angelico, ital. Fra Beato Angelico, lit., «brother Blessed Angels," own name Guido di Pietro, Italy. Guido di Pietro, who professed the name Giovanni da Fiesole), (1400−1455) — Italian artist of the Early Renaissance, the Dominican monk.

Vasari called the artist «Angelic» ital. Angelico); thanks to him, the artist became famous under the name of fra (brother, a monk) Angelico. Very early on it became known as Angelico, Angelico that is Blessed, but the Vatican officially ranked him among the blessed ones only in 1984.
