>>People's artist of the RSFSR, full member of the USSR Academy of arts, laureate of USSR State prize and prize of the RSFSR behalf I. E. Repin. Together with his brother A. P. Tkachev is the author of works on historical and revolutionary themes, genre, and easel graphics and illustrations. Born in 1922 in the village of Chugunovka Bryansk region. Studied in 1938-1941 at the Vitebsk art school in 1945-1946 in the Sverdlovsk art College. He graduated in 1952 from Moscow state Institute. VI Surikov in the Studio of F. A. Fedor. Participant of art exhibitions since 1952. Major works: "Washerwoman" (1955-1957, Kyiv Museum of Russian art), "Between battles" (1958-1960, TG), Detvora (1958-1960, RM), "Mother" (1961, TG), "In the difficult year of the war" (1964, CX USSR), "Father" (1964-1965, Saratov state art Museum im. A. N. Radishchev), "For the land of freedom (1966-1967), "the farm" (1970, Irkutsk regional art Museum), "Bread of the Republic" (1970, Voronezh regional Museum of fine arts), "the Light (1972, Kaluga regional art Museum), "the Wedding" (1972, MK USSR), "On native soil" (1978— 1980), "In the years of collectivization" (1979-1980), "the old baths" (1978-1980).
