He was born 15 Sep 1931 in Leningrad.
In 1956 he graduated from the higher school of industrial art behalf of Vera Mukhina, in Alexander Kazantsev workshop. He studied of Piotr Buchkin, Alexei Sokolov, Sergei Petrov, Kirill Johannsen.
Participant of exhibitions since 1957.
Member of the Leningrad Union of artists since 1960.
He painted portraits, landscapes, genre compositions. Worked in watercolors, gouache, oil and tempera painting.
Taught at the higher school of industrial art named after V. I. Mukhina (1960-2008). Professor of the Department of General painting of the higher school of industrial art name V. I. Mukhina (1988).
Honored artist of the RSFSR (1984). People's artist of Russia (1995).
