In 2002, the painting was acquired by the Nizhny Tagil Museum from the artist’s son, M.M. Shemyakin, Moscow.

In still lifes, Shemyakin tried to express an elegiac mood with a slight touch of sadness. This helped him favorite flowers - the most delicate hyacinths, which often appear in his paintings.
