Vladimir Shinkarev (4 March 1954) is known[1] the artist group "Mitki", the writer, the ideologist of the Mitki movement.

On March 4, 1954 was born in Leningrad. From 1974 to 1977, she studied courses at the higher school of industrial art to them. Mukhina and Institute. Repin. Since 1975 involved in the informal apartment exhibitions. In 1977 he graduated from the geological faculty of Leningrad state University. Since 1981 member of the Association of experimental fine arts (TEII). Is one of the founders of the group "Mitki" and publishing house "Mitkilibris". In 1985, the book V. shinkareva "Mitki" began the movement "Mitkov". Since 1991 member of the International Federation of Artists. Since 1993 member of the St.-Petersburg society "A-z". Since 1994 member of the Union of artists of Russia. In 2007 he won the art award "Art Awards. Artist of the year 06" for achievements in the field of fine arts.

In March 2008, Shinkarev has publicly declared his break with the Mitki. The cause of the rupture was a disagreement with the public activities of another leader of the movement Dmitry Shagin, who became a member of the St. Petersburg campaign headquarters, Dmitry Medvedev[2].

In 2008 he received an award named Joseph Brodsky[1][3].
