Born in Moscow in 1944. Graduated from Moscow state academic art Institute. V. I. Surikov in 1971 and received a diploma in "graphic artist-poster artist". In the workshop poster, which he finished, his teachers were N.. Ponomarev, O. M. Savostyuk, B. A. Uspensky.

In 1973 he became a member of the Union of artists, actively working in the field of poster and easel graphics and painting. Awarded first prize in the exhibition of young graphics SOC.countries in Sofia, the prize of the fourth biennial of graphics in Krakow, award of the Moscow Komsomol, the first and second prizes of the Union of artists of Russian Federation, diplomas of the Union of artists of the RSFSR and the USSR, diplomas of the ministries of culture of the USSR and Russia, the gold and silver medals VDNH together with N. With. Babyim and I. T. Ovasapov.

For work in the field of graphics and poster are awarded the diploma of the gold and silver medals by the Academy of arts of the USSR and the Russian Academy of arts.

Since joining the Union of artists began to conduct active public work, being a member of the youth Commission of the Moscow Union of artists, member of poster commissions CX RSFSR and of the USSR Union.

For several years, was included in the expert commissions of the Union of artists of the RSFSR and the USSR Ministry of culture.

Currently, he is Board member of the Moscow Union of Artists and Union of artists of Russia, was elected Secretary of the Union of Artists of Russia.

Since 1974, A. B. Yakushin lecturer at the Department of graphics mgahi. V. I. Surikov. Last 30 years he has been teaching in the Studio of easel graphic art graphic faculty of the Institute.
