Biography and information

He studied at the Sverdlovsk art College (1954 - 1957) and then in Leningrad in the school (1957 -1958). Lived in Novokuznetsk, but was close to the environment of the Moscow and Leningrad underground. Participated in Moscow exhibitions - "bulldozer", in Izmailovo, etc., In 1975, emigrated and settled in Paris.

Works are in the Museum Bochum (Germany),, ZM, the Museum "Other art", private collections.

Eduard Zelenin was born in 1938 in Novokuznetsk.

He began to study painting at the age of 12 years old Novokuznetsk in the art Studio of the Pioneer.

In the years 1954-1957 he studied at the Sverdlovsk average pedagogical College of art.

In 1957-1959 he studied at the Leningrad art school at the Academy of fine Arts (together with Mikhail Shemyakin, Oleg Grigoriev). Was expelled from the last class.

In 1959, after the American exhibition in Moscow, in the American magazine "Look Magasine" published an article about the Answer "No personality" (There's no place for individual)

In the 1960-ies he lived in Novokuznetsk. Changed a few jobs and continued to paint. Often visited Leningrad and Moscow, taking part in the artistic life of the capital, mostly informal. Exhibited at the apartment exhibitions, in cafes, in project and scientific institutions.

Since 1971, the city lived in the village of Eel close to Vladimir. Studied ancient Russian painting, architecture and sculpture

In 1974, he was an "bulldozer" exhibition in the exhibition in Izmailovo Park.

In 1975 the city trying to get permission to exhibit their works, was arrested for disorderly conduct. After his release, he received permission to leave.

In 1975 he left the Soviet Union and settled with his family in Paris.

The first years in the West, many were exposed more than 40 personal and collective exhibitions from 1975 to 1984 (France, Germany, Sweden, Italy, USA, Japan...)

After 1984, practically ceased to exhibit, lived closed in order to maintain independence from market forces.

In 1988, visited the Soviet Union at the invitation of the Cultural Foundation, was held in Novokuznetsk solo exhibition, the stamp was issued with a reproduction of one of his paintings.

Died in March 2002, the city, is buried on the Parisian cemetery of Pantin.
