Yuri
Vladimirovich Yakovenko

Born in 1965 in the village of Smolyaninovo, Primorsky Territory.

In 1992 he graduated from the Belarusian State Academy of Arts, department of graphics.

Since 1994 - member of the Belarusian Union of Artists.

Since 2007 - Member of the Swedish association * Grafikens Hus *

Lives and works in Grodno. Belarus.

Yuri Yakovenko works in the technique of traditional etching. His composition is distinguished by exquisite refinement of form. The plots of his works are often surreal. The system of copyright images is unique. The artist is a patriot of his country and in those countries where the graphic biennale is held, Yuri Yakovenko worthily represents Grodno.

The etching master has 25 international and domestic awards. This confirms the recognition of the Belarusian school of easel graphics.

One of Yakovenko’s prizes is Rembrandt’s self-portrait, printed from the board of a great Dutchman. Such awards have been awarded to few artists in the world.
