Was born in Voronezh, he studied at Saratov at Bogolyubov drawing school (1909 — 1916) P. S. Utkin. Watercolorist, draftsman, etcher, Daran worked as a poster artist and a theatre designer. The author, famous for his easel works on the theme of circus and ballet, was not alien to the traditional genres of portraiture and landscape. Engaged in magazine and book illustration. Since 1917 — member of you rates in Saratov. From 1921 he lived in Moscow, worked in the newspaper "Gudok", the magazines "the Poor", "Lapot", "Crocodile". Illustrated and designed books for Goslitizdat, publishing house "Soviet writer" and others. Participated in exhibitions of the Association of graphic artists at the printing House (1926 - 1928), was one of the organizers and participants of the exhibitions of the group "13" (1929 — 1931). In subsequent years, continued to participate in exhibitions in the USSR and abroad. He taught at the art Studio club "Red beam" Mosenergo (1923, 1950 — 1955) and at the Art school in Kazan (1942).

D. B. Daran (alias; real name Reichman) was born in Voronezh. He studied at Saratov at Bogolyubov drawing school (1909-1916). P. Utkin. Worked there as a theatre designer and poster artist. 1917 participant of exhibitions in Saratov.

In 1923 moved to Moscow. Illustrated and designed books for Goslitizdat, publishing house "Soviet writer", etc. Collaborated in the newspaper "Gudok", the magazine "the Poor", "Lapot", "Crocodile".

Author of works on the theme of circus and ballet. He also worked in the genre of landscape and portrait. Began to exhibit at exhibitions of the Association of graphic artists at the printing House (1926-1928), and later, one of the organizers and participants of the exhibitions of the group "13" (1929-1931 gg.).

In subsequent years, continued to participate in exhibitions in the USSR and abroad. During the life of the artist has held three solo exhibitions: in 1946, 1962 and 1964, he Taught at the art Studio club "Red beam" Mosenergo and at the art school in Kazan.
