Biography and information

(11.3.1865, Van, Turkey, - 30.4.1941, Yerevan).

Soviet painter, people's artist of Armenian SSR (1935).

He studied at the school of the society for the encouragement of arts in St. Petersburg (1895-97) and the académie Julian in Paris (1899-1904). Member of the Armenian branch AHRR.

Among the works Terlemezian, has experienced the impact of impressionism, dominated by landscapes, notable for fine black and white solutions, the relative restraint of color (the series of industrial landscapes, 1929-31, the Art gallery of Armenia, Yerevan).

Awarded the order of red banner of Labor.
