An auditor student at the Academy of fine Arts. Received medals: in 1847 - 2 silver; in 1851 - 2 silver; in 1852 - 2 silver for the "Lady's portrait" (his mother, Zheleznova). In 1853 the title of the artist with the right to the rank of class XIV. (Kondakov)

Artist, art historian, student of K. P.

Briullov, honorary member of the Milan Academy of Arts.

His paintings are much less known than his literary works. Special popularity was gained by it as the author of memoirs and the publisher of the letters of K. P. Briullov.
