Studied in Moscow at the Free art workshops — VHUTEMAS (1918-21) S. T. Konenkov. A member of AHRR (1925). He taught at the Moscow higher art-industrial school (1945-63, Professor from 1953). In the works of M. (mostly monumental and decorative sculpture) genre interpretation of the topic combined with decorative plastic solutions. Works: reliefs on the arch of the former main entrance to the agricultural exhibition (stone, 1939); the sculptural decoration of the Moscow metro station "Elektrozavodskaya" (1942-44), "October" (1950), "Smolensk" (1953); the monument to A. N. Tolstoy in Moscow (bronze, unveiled in 1957). USSR state prize (1950). Awarded the order of Labor red banner and medals.

Professor, laureate of the State prize. Born in the family physician – chief of surgery Catherine hospital on Petrovka in Moscow. He graduated from high school with a silver medal, then – Moscow University in the specialty of the doctor. As a youth, studied sculpture at S. M. Volnukhin, the author of the monument to first printer Ivan Fyodorov. In 1918. Arrived in VHUTEMAS, where he studied under S. T. Konenkov. For the work "metallurg" in 1937 he received a gold medal at the world exhibition in Paris. Entered the history of fine art as a master of the terrain. Issued the Moscow metro station "Electrozavodskaya", "Novokuznetsk", "Smolensk", "Prospect Mira", 2Парк culture", "October", "Komsomolskaya". The author of the monument: A. N. Tolstoy in Moscow to Kutuzov in Smolensk, N..Nekrasov in Yaroslavl, A. P. Chekhov in Yalta, General P. V. Volkova in the raisins. From 1945 to 1963 he headed the Department of sculpture at MVHPU (b. Stroganov). Created a school of monumental-decorative sculpture.
