Studied in the art faculty of Vilnius University (1932), F. Ruszczyc, L. Kandinskogo. The organizer of the Vilnius Association of artists. Participant of exhibitions from 1937. Member of the Belarusian Union of artists since 1946. Lived in Niasvizh from 1939.
Born in Warsaw in the family of the railway. Together with his parents lived in Brest, Moscow, Snov. After graduating from the Nesvizh gymnasium in 1927, he joined the art faculty of Vilnius University. Stefan Batory, where he graduated in 1932 Among his teachers were F. Rusic and L. Kandinskii . In exhibitions M. Sevruk has been involved since 1937 In the period of his life in Vilna, the Vilna he organized the Association of artists. Since 1939 the painter lived in Nesvizh, where ten years ago there was opened a Museum-apartment of M. K. Sevruk.
The early works of the artist are inherent traits of romanticism; the later works are distinguished by the nationality of images, the sculptural volume of the forms, a thorough pattern. Amongst the works of art - themed composition "harvesting beet" (1936), "Harvest" (1937), "the New house" (1968), etc. Sevruk is the author of the covers of poetry collections of M. Tank "On stages" (1936) and songs of G. Shirma "Our song" (1938), graphic works "Wilensky Alma mater" (1937) and others.
