Biography and information

Born in Nizhny Novgorod, 1892, g, he lived in Vyatka. One of the founders of the Vyatka art circle (1909), the Kunsthistorisches Museum (1910). In 1919-1937 worked in the Museum, did a lot of collecting work, was the Director of the local Museum. In his works glorified the native land nature. Style of painting betrays the influence of the impressionist approach to depicting nature. Worked in the circle of such famous artists as Alexei Isupov, Arkadiy Rylov and Nikolay Khokhryakov. The artist's works are stored in the Vyatka art Museum. He was also a writer, author of short stories and novels. Arkady Rylov, in his memoirs, recalls friendship with Nikolai Rumyantsev and his role in creating the Vyatka Museum (A. Rylov. "Memories". L., 1977. P. 115-116).
