He graduated from the Imperial Academy of Arts (1903, workshop of I. E. Repin), pedagogical courses. Repeatedly visited overseas educational trips (Germany, France, Austria, England, Italy, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, China, Japan). In 1906-15 he worked in the Ekaterinburg art-prom. school teacher, head. workshops, inspector of schools. Participant of all-Russian Congress of artists (St. Petersburg, 1911). In 1915-21 Director Cheat. artistic-prom. school. Member. Zab. com. Islands the study of Sib. and improve her life; one of the founders in Chita Islands of fine arts, member. the editorial Board of the magazine "Theater and art", etc. From 1921 he lived in Harbin, where he taught in schools and art studios. Awarded the order of St. Svyatoslav 3rd degree (1915), St. Anna 3rd degree (1916).
