He studied in St. Petersburg Ilya Repin and Chistyakov. After two years spent in Europe, came to Tiflis. Mostly painted pictures reflecting the atmosphere of the city, genre works. 1883 – lives in Paris, Munich, Vienna.
In 1884 he lived and worked in Tiflis, taught in the public schools, the course of art G. A. Levonyan and open them in art school.
1890, 1893, 1897 – participation in exhibitions COPIES in Tiflis.
1911 – 1912 – the part in the second all-Russian Congress of artists.
1913 – personal exhibition in Tbilisi.
