French landscape painter and lithographer, the son and disciple of the famous master of the portrait miniature by Jean Baptiste Isabey. Born in Paris on 22 July 1803. Isabey was a leading marine painter of the romantic movement, a follower of the colours of Delacroix, one of the court artists of Louis-Philippe; under the influence of Richard Bonington he created the genre works and watercolors. The artist's works, including many drawings and lithographs are in many museums around the world. Died eugène Isabey in Lani near Paris on 25 April 1886.
