Student of the Academy of fine arts from 1883 To 1887 he graduated from the course Sciences. Received the medal: 1885 – 2 silver; in 1887 – a small incentive and 1 silver; in 1888, 2 gold for the program: "the project of the station near the city sea baths on the Black sea". In 1889 the title of class artist of 1 degree.

He studied at the Academy of fine arts (1882-1889) at the architectural Department, learned the technique of watercolor painting... Gogolevskogo, studied the works of Luigi Premazzi. From 1891 to 1905, he lived in Sebastopol, designed and built the Palace of the chief commander of the black sea fleet. In 1905 he moved to Kharkov, he taught at the Institute of Technology. From 1910 he lived in Kiev, teaching at the Polytechnic and Architectural institutions. The author of the books "the Light and the purity of painting, Notes on issues of watercolor painting". In 1894 he made a trip to Turkey and Egypt, in 1914 in Italy. Full member of the Society of Russian watercolors (1880-1918), the society of artists of Kiev (1914-1919), the founding member of Kiev Association of artists (1916-1918). Since 1890 almost every year he participated in exhibitions of watercolor painting in St. Petersburg, Sevastopol, Kharkov, Kiev, Odessa. Wrote still lifes and Ukrainian landscapes.
