Graphic artist, painter. Honored artist of the Uzbek SSR. Since 1923 he lived in Uzbekistan. In the twenties he worked in the field of poster, magazine graphics with M. by Coursenum, L. Bure, A. Volkov. From 1926 he directed the art division of the satirical magazine "Mushtum". In 1927, organized jointly with A. Volkov, M. by Korzinin, V. Markova, V. Gulyaev, I. Ikramov by creative group "Masters of new East". The founder of socialist realism in art Uzbekistana. In 1931 Moscow hosted the first exhibition of fine art of Uzbekistan, on it were presented Usto-Mumin, VL Christmas, S. Malta, V. Yeremyan, A. Volkov, Benkov. In 1938-1943 gg. Rozhdestvensky often worked in the technique of lithography, excellent work on the subject of pre-revolutionary Uzbekistan, Fergana canal construction. Christmas left a noticeable trace in the artistic illustration of Uzbek literature. Worked in the field of the poster. During the war years from a trip with B. Zhukov, M. Ariminum by the North-Caucasian front brought a series of front-line sketches and drawings. He followed the Soviet troops who liberated the Nazi-occupied cities and villages, so it is a documentary-convincing his paintings and graphic sketches. There was always a creative individual, not compromised with the authorities, as a result of his work and the work of A. Volkov (the oldest of artists of Uzbekistan) has not been taken at the Republican exhibition in Moscow (1949).
