Danilovich Gotman

Arrived in N. Novgorod in 1819. Became a close assistant to the author of the project of the complex of buildings of the Nizhny Novgorod fair of A. A. Betankur. After the completion of the fair complex Gotman, together with the provincial architect academician I. E. Efimov in 1834 developed a program of urban reconstruction, N. Novgorod. The project proposed works were considered in the capital in 1836, after which he established a special Committee for the organization of the provincial town of N. Novgorod led by Gotman. To run this program Gotman brought the architect I. E. Efimov, I. Kizevetter, A. L. Leer, A. I. schäfer, A. E. Tormysheva, engineers, F. S. Krutikov, D. A. Litvinov, N. M. Gorodetsky, N. I. Lika, M. E. Petersen, And A. I. Podzorova. Gotman actively participated in the design of the most significant buildings in the city: Red barracks (1836 - 1853), a complex of the Kremlin military Governor's house Palace (1834 - 1843), his project was built the house of the merchant I. Shuvalov (1835 - 1836) - 26 Mayakovskogo street. In 1844 Gotman in the rank of engineer-General was appointed head of the Kiev construction fee and left N. Novgorod.
