The son of Petersburg merchant. In 1824 he entered the Academy of fine arts. Received medals: in 1834 – 2 silver; in 1836, 1 silver and then issued with a certificate of 1 degree. In 1849, the title of academician.

Born in St. Petersburg in the family of a merchant. At the age of nine was sent to study in the Academy of arts. After konania 1836 he was one of the builders of the Pulkovo Observatory. Two years later, its included in architects Fee for the resumption of the Winter Palace. Under the leadership of Alexander Brullov Pakhomov restored the gallery of the Patriotic war of 1812 and the front of the St. George hall of the Hermitage. In 1842 he moved to N. Novgorod, where he served as assistant provincial architect, and performed design work on private orders. In 1843 - 1848 years, designs and builds educational building Institute for nobles at Urvashi street (street Figner, 3), performs completely the interior of the buildings for submission to the Council of the Academy of arts for the title of academician of architecture. In 1844 Pakhomov upgrades over the old tents A. Panina, Mayakovsky street (12) third floor and changes the facade, rebuilds the house of M. Nesterov, Mayakovsky street (29). After the death of Pakhomov. Novgorod came the news about awarding him the title of academician.
