Description of the artwork «Portrait of D.A. Shipova»

Daria Alekseevna Shipova (1811-1865), daughter of General A.M. Akulov (Okulova). Sister of the director of the 1st Moscow men's gymnasium M.A. Akulov, who is married to A.V. Nashchokina. Since 1836 she has been married to a real state councilor, leader of the nobility of the Mozhaisk district, NP Shipov (1806-1887). She was close to the circle of AS Pushkin - PA Vyazemsky, who dedicated to her in 1832 the quatrain "Dasha Akulova". In the portrait, Daria Alekseevna is depicted in a black lace veil on her head, which testifies to the mourning for her children who tragically died in 1845.
