The son of a Royal footman. In 1821 defined in the Academy of fine arts. In 1831 – 2 silver medal. In the same year, released with the title of a free artist. In 1836 – recognized as "designated" in 1838 he was elected academician for the project "great Gostiny Dvor".

In 1832-60 worked in Ryazan. In 1864 invited Mosk. administrative Duma to perform work at the barracks buildings, was in charge of their restructuring. In 1867, he completed the extension to the houses of the Georgian princes (Theatre St., 3/1—3/2, not preserved).
