Egorovich Egorov

Born in the village of Gribki Saltykov (now Ekaterinovskiy) district of Saratov region in a peasant family. During the Volga famine of 1933, together with his family moved to the suburbs (the village "Commune"). After graduating in 1946 from high school enrolled in the same year in the Moscow art-industrial school im. M. I. Kalinin. Studied with the sculptors G. D. Alexeev, A. M. Shmakov, and of academician of painting V. N. Baksheeva. He graduated from the school in 1951 (diploma work "Portrait of F. E. Dzerzhinsky").

Fascinated by the tales of p. P. Bazhov, came after graduating from College in the Urals; at first worked in the village Mramorskaya, contributing to the revival of the Ural folk art stone carving, then moved to Sverdlovsk, where he lived and worked until the last days of life.

The first work of V. E. Egorov, in Sverdlovsk, was the heraldic panel with coat of arms of the Russian Federation on the building b. Of the city Council. In 1954, he was created a sculptural portrait in marble "Uralsky kamnerez G. D. Zverev," bypassed a number of exhibitions of the country and exhibited in 1955. at the International art exhibition in Warsaw (located in the exhibition Ekaterinburg art gallery). The same scene the motive is embodied in the sculpture "Tinker N. D. Tataurov" (plaster tinted, 1957, the Nizhny Tagil Museum of fine arts).

Art exhibition at the VI world festival of youth and students in Moscow (1957) V. E. Egorov presented a gracefully sculpted head girls sverdlovchane named Lily ("portrait of a girl"), who soon became his wife.

In the 1960s, V. E. Egorov traveled a lot, visited many countries of the world - in France (1959), in Africa (1961), Cuba (1962, the first Soviet tourists), Italy, Greece, Turkey, Finland (1960s), the USA (1966), Czechoslovakia (1968). During these visits, met with many famous people: field Marshal Montgomery, Archbishop of Canterbury, Dolores Ibarruri, Cuban revolutionary Che Guevara. Cuba has carved a bust of the President of the National Assembly Blas Rock (Granit, 1962).

V. E. Egorov made an enormous contribution to the development of monumental and easel sculpture in the Urals, creating many monuments and memorial plaques to heroes of war and labor, outstanding scientists, politicians and cultural figures in Yekaterinburg and the Sverdlovsk region and the Kurgan, Kazakhstan, Tyumen region, at BAM, in the Moscow and Amur regions and other places.

In Yekaterinburg there are monuments: the inventor of radio A. S. Popov (cast, 1975), the Ural revolutionary I. M. Malyshev (Granit, 1977, the height of the figure 6.7 m), the legendary scout N. I. Kuznetsov (bronze and granite, 1985).

In the city of Serov is a monument to the pilot Anatoly Serov (bronze, 1961-1962), in Kamensk-Uralsky - the Hero of the Soviet Union G. P. Kanavino (iron, 1965), in the town of Kurgan - monument to V. I. Lenin (bronze, 1965-1967), in the town of Revda - multi-figure composition "the Unity of the front and rear" (concrete, 1968), in the city of Pervouralsk - the monument to General DM Karbysheva (granite, 1968-1969), in the town of Kushva - monument "our Soldier" (iron, 1969-1972), in the city of Artemivsk - "Monument Artemova fought in the war at the front and in the rear" (1970).

V. E. Egorov has created a series of sculptures of small forms. This bust of Belinsky on the facade of the library in his name (cast, 1959) and a bas-relief of P. I. Tchaikovsky in the interior of the Philharmonic society (both in Yekaterinburg); the high relief of "the miner" (cast iron, 1969) in the city of Artemovsk, Sverdlovsk region; two multi-figure murals (bas-relief, round sculpture) "Uralmash: History and modernity" (aluminium tinted, 1990) that are installed above exit arches of the platform of the metro station "Uralmash" in Ekaterinburg; panels with bas-reliefs in the room Revda railway station "Revda: history and modernity" (1983). The sculptor also executed the memorial plaque: "Decembrists" (cast iron, 1964), "the Ural writer p. P. Bazhov" (bronze, 1978-1979), both in Ekaterinburg, and others.

V. E. Egorov also worked in the schedule. Among his works: "Ivory Coast", "Merchant favors", "Corner jungle", "thinking of Moscow" and others.

All V. E. Egorov has created more than 100 sculptures and 50 drawings. Since 1952 he has participated in many Sverdlovsk, Ural, Russia, all-Union and international exhibitions, became a laureate of a number of sculptural competitions, the winner of the Republican exhibitions.

In 1956, he was admitted to the Union of artists of the USSR in 1971 - awarded the order "badge of Honor", in 1973, awarded the honorary title "Honored worker of culture of the RSFSR". In 1992, he first was awarded the honorary title "people's sculptor of the Urals", Zonal established architectural organization "Rosmonumentiskusstvo".
