Giedroyc, a graduate of the St. Petersburg Academy of arts, a close friend of Ilya Repin, Vereshchagin, B. Serov, V. Surikov, A. Kuindzhi, D. Yavornytsky, a man in love with painting and the history of why edge deserves it. Nikolay Antonovich enthusiastically brought to life the idea Vereshchagin on the possible establishment of art museums in the province at the expense of funds of the capital's museums. "After the death of V. V. Vereshchagin... I never cease to get a lot of offers from different cities, not only provincial, but even from the County, with an urgent request to help them in the organization of art museums and their schools of painting and applied art", — reported Giedroyc to his colleagues in the Academy of fine arts. The result was opened art museums in Kherson (1912), Mariupol (1913), Ekaterinoslav (1914), Mykolaiv (1914). Very much he did to create the House-Museum of I. Repin in Chuguev.
