Party East Turkestan expedition of academician S. F. Oldenburg (1909-10, 1914-15). In exile (Greece, Czechoslovakia), was engaged in iconography.
Was a pupil of Leon Bakst at the St. Petersburg Academy of arts. Since 1923 he lived with his wife and three children in poverty in Carpathian Ruthenia (then Czechoslovakia, now Ukraine). He died in the village of thorns (Tyachiv district), 1st April 1935 at the age of 53 years.
