Born in Palekh. Studied at icon-painting workshop from his father and I. V. Belousov. Member of artel of ancient painting since 1926. He died in 1979, buried in Palekh.
Themes of works: folklore, literature, genre scenes. Participated in exhibitions since 1928. The work of L. I. Belousova are stored in museums: the State Museum of Palekh art, the all-Russian Museum of A. S. Pushkin "Moika 12".
