Mikhailovich Melnikov

Born in the city of Lukh of the Ivanovo-Voznesensk province. Member of the Union of artists of the RSFSR in 1960. Younger brother G. M. Melnikov. The participant of the great Patriotic war from its first day. In 1944-1949, he studied at the Palekh art school. Teachers - A. V. Kotuhin, D. N. Butorin, N..Pravdin. Since 1949 he worked at the Palekh art-production workshops. For two years he taught at the Palekh art school. In 1976 he was awarded the silver medal VDNH USSR. Fellow of the Association of hudognikov Russia (2001).

Was engaged in monumental painting (Palaces of pioneers in Anzhero-Sudzhensk (1961), belove (1979-1984), Ivanovo (1964-1965), the eagle (1960), kindergartens in Zlatoust (1960), Moscow (1975), Palekh (1978), Shuya (1958), boarding school №6 in Ivanov (1959), secondary school №858, Moscow (1976), foyer Ivanovo Palace of culture and technology of the textile they. 30-anniversary of Victory at the head of the brigade (1974)), theatrical-decorative art (scenery for the ballet "Russian miniatures" for Leningrad theater of Opera and ballet. S. M. Kirova), restoration (restoration of paintings of the Palace of pioneers in Yaroslavl (1982)), book illustration ("frost, Red nose"). Themes of works: folklore, literature, genre scenes. Participant of exhibitions since 1955. K. M. Melnikova are in museums: gmpi, timing, GMAN, Museum of N..Nekrasov.
