Vasilyevich Kotukhin

Born may 25 (June 6), 1897, in Palekh. Member of the Union of artists of the RSFSR in 1934. Hereditary icon painter, the younger brother of A. V. Kotuhin. In the years 1908-1912 he studied at the educational workshops of the Committee of guardianship of Russian iconography. In the years 1912-1917, he worked in the icon workshop of the brothers Belousovich. One of the founders of the Artel of ancient painting (4 December 1924). Died may 21, 1957, buried in Palekh. Was engaged in book illustration. Themes of works: folklore, history, literature, genre scenes. Participated in exhibitions since 1924. The work of V. V. Kotuhin are stored in museums: gmpi, Umgeni, PIM, SHAMS, OC Ivanovo, Russian Museum of A. S. Pushkin "Moika 12", CMRI.
