Between 1943 and 1948 he studied at the Palekh hudojestvennom school. Teacher - D. N. Butorin. Since 1948 worked in the Palekh artists Association (later the Palekh art-production workshops). Themes of works: folklore, literature. Participant of exhibitions since 1975. The work of G. G. Markova are stored in museums: the State Museum of Palekh art, the all-Russian Museum of A. S. Pushkin "Moika 12".
