Mikhailovich Salabanov

Born on March 26 (April 8) 1902 in the village of Deryagino Vladimir province. Hereditary icon painter. Before the October revolution he worked in icon-painting workshops. From 1926 he studied at the Artel of ancient painting. Teacher - I. I. Zubkov. A member of the Cooperative since 1928. Died at the front in 1941.

Engaged in design of books. Themes of works: folklore, literature, modern village. Participated in exhibitions since 1932. The work of V. M. Balabanova are stored in museums: gmpi, timing, Umgeni, PIM, SHAMS, OC Ivanovo, Russian Museum of A. S. Pushkin "Moika 12", the State Museum of A. M. Gorky, CMRI.
