Finn by birth, a pupil of L. V. Shervud, and A. T. Matveev at the b. Academy of arts, graduating in 1921 (the first issue after the revolution) and was left with her. Participates in the exhibitions of Russian. and abroad since 1923. Working mainly in marble and wood. E. there is a sculpture at the Tretyakov gallery ("Seated woman" — tree), in the Russian Museum ("the February revolution" — gypsum) and the Museum of the red army. E. is one of the most consistent members of formalism in sculpture, although do not shy away from the revolutionary theme.
