Creativity O. covers a wide range of architectural projects and built close to the state theatre in Samarkand (1927); concrete and stone crushing plant, residential building in Zaporozhye (1927-1931); the building design organizations and the Institute of Applied Mineralogy in Kharkiv (1930); the village on 12 thousand inhabitants on the outskirts of Moscow, club "Dniproenergo" in Zaporozhye (1939); residential building and the Palace of oil workers in Baku (1942); housing estates and the monument to Lenin in Zaporozhye (1946 - 1951); experimental residential quarter at the Dnieper hydroelectric station and the town at Cheboksarskaya HPP. a: HPPs on the river bug (1932); participation in the construction of industrial ensemble of the Dnieper - hydroelectric power plant, the main building of the Control dam (1944 - 1952), including hydro turbine hall, the restoration of which O. was awarded the Stalin prize (1951). Under his leadership and participation was designed and built dozens of hydroelectric power plants. Among them: Kakhovskaya (1951 - 1957), Kremenchug (1955), the Kaunas hydroelectric power station (1960). The largest and most famous was the Bratsk hydroelectric power station (1960 - 1968) for the development of which O and his co-authors was awarded the prize of the RSFSR (1969).

National architect of the USSR (1970). Awarded two orders of Lenin and many other higher awards of the USSR. Authority O. was international in nature, as evidenced by his election as a corresponding member of the French Academy of architecture, honorary member of the Union of architects of Hungary, Brazil, a member of the High Council of Spanish architects, a member of the Institute of American architects, an honorary member of the Union of Bulgarian architects.
