Biography and information

Born in the Voronezh province, Aleksandr Nikanorovich of Novoskoltsev was not limited to teaching at the Moscow school of painting, sculpture and architecture. After his graduation he in 1878 entered St. Petersburg in nature class Academy of arts, where the school received the silver medals were added to the same sample of academic medals, and last, big was awarded in 1882 for software the painting "St. Sergius blessing Dmitry Donskoy in the battle and lets him two monks". In the same year, a great artist of the first degree A. N. Novoskoltsev serving in the pensioner's trip to Europe, where he visited art museums and galleries in Germany, Austria, Italy and France. Some of his works, executed during his stay in Europe, became the property of Grand Duke Vladimir Alexandrovich, President of the Academy of arts. Of the numerous paintings by A. N. Novoskoltsev can be identified "After the masquerade", "a Corner of Venice", "the Confession", "Svetlana", "Death of Metropolitan Philip", "Henchmen" written in lush, emotionally, with a masterful color scheme. For the painting "Death of Metropolitan Philip", the artist was awarded the title of academician of historical painting. Led A. N. Novoskoltsev and teaching, preparing future artists at the Academy and the school of Baron Stieglitz.
