Born in Kharkiv. Son of V. Krichevsky, nephew of F. Krichevsky. In 1923 he graduated from the KHI, where he studied with his father. Worked at the Odessa and Kiev film studios, scored 16 films, including "the Earth" Alexander Dovzhenko. With time engaged in easel painting. From 1949 he lived and worked in the United States.
