Born July 21, 1928 in the village of Khlopunova, Shipunovsky district, Altai Krai.
He graduated from the Saratov art College.
Sculptor. Works in easel and monumental sculpture.
Participant of exhibitions since 1951, the regional, zonal, Republican, foreign, including the "Artists of the Urals, Siberia and the Far East" 1971, Moscow.
Member of the Union of artists of Russia since 1975.

A participant of regional, zonal., resp. and Zaruba. exhibitions. Created a series of realistic sculptural portraits of the Altai intellectuals, the best of them: "portrait of the artist A. K. Geraskova" (1979), "a portrait of the writer G. V. Egorova" (1985); author of portraits of famous contemporaries: Akad. M. A. Lisavenko (1962), Hero Of Labor Socialisticheskogo M. E. Efremov (1970). Master of sculptures, the famous "Meeting on the threshing floor" (1957), "Happy childhood" (1980), "the fisherman" (1986). Created memorial. the complexes devoted to the civil and great Patriotic wars (Ust-pristanskiy, Krasnogorsk, Topchikhinsky district). In the 80's turned to painting: "Portrait of wife" (1982), "Irina" (1984), "where was the Sands..." (1985), "painter's Studio" (1998). Persons. exhibition: 1988, Barnaul. The Shchetinin works are in the State. khudozh. the Museum of Altai territory, etc. collections.
