Student Of The Academy Of Arts. Received medals: in 1881 - 2 silver; in 1883 1 and 2 silver and then graduated from the scientific course; in 1884 - 2 silver; in 1885 - 1 silver. (Kondakov)

Dmitry V. Fry family. in the year 1860. in Kirillov (now the Vologda region) in a family of small artisans. A self-taught artist since childhood, Dmitri did not have the means and opportunity to go to school. During a visit to Kirillov Grand Duke Vladimir Alexandrovich, Dmitry, to draw attention to themselves, stood beside the road with his self-portrait in his hands. The Grand Duke saw the boy and came out of the coach, appreciated his talent. Soon Dmitry was invited to study at the Academy of fine Arts in St. Petersburg. Despite the poor education received in the provincial town, he was unconditionally accepted to study only the results of the examination in drawing, which he passed perfectly. During his studies at the Academy, the young man has achieved wonderful results in different years were awarded several silver medals. The thesis of Dmitry Malkov was his painting "prisoner of Chillon", inspired by the work of D. G. Byron. Unfortunately, the picture is lost during the blockade of Leningrad, survived only by her black-and-white photograph. After graduating with honors in 1883 the Academy of Arts, Dmitry Malkov in 1885. was recommended for training and further education in Italy. However, while on vacation at my parents in the town of Kirillov, Dmitriy, boat rides, caught a cold and got galloping consumption. Despite the efforts of local doctors, the disease within 2 months crippled and claimed the life of a young talented artist. Dmitry Malkov died 20 December 1885. at the age of 25 years. In the collection of the Kirillo-Belozersky monastery contains 7 of his paintings.
