Student of the Academy of Arts from 1866 to 1873, Received medals: in 1868 two 2 silver medals; in 1870, 1 silver and graduated from the course Sciences; in 1872 - 2 gold for the program "the Sacrifice of Abraham." In 1873 the title of class artist of 1 degree for the painting "Patriarch Hermogenes in the time of popular unrest 1611, at the election of the King, for deposition from the throne, Basil Shuisky".
