From 1814 studied painting at the school of academician Stupin in Arzamas.
Upon completion of the course at the Academy of fine Arts, with the title of class artist, in 1832 he founded with his own funds in the city of Kozlov, Tambov province school of drawing and painting, which by 1836, the Academy of Arts took under his wing and treated very sympathetically as to the school, and its founder, so that in 1840, agreed: "in respect of services free artist Nadezhina for the benefit of the arts in Russia of the establishment, at its own expense, the art school in kozliv and his famous Academy of the fine arts, recognizing him as appointed, ask for the title of academician program — write from life groups: two generations figures with the student, and to fulfill the place of residence it." But the school was not given N. the possibility to execute a given program, and the Academy in 1855, awarded him the degree of academician of portrait painting, had no program, only "in respect of the benefits brought by the school established by them." Academic reports will include the recognition of him an academician to 1852, but this is contradicted by the minutes of the meeting of Council of the Academy dated September 16, 1855. In 1861 nadiin with the permission of the Academy turned their school in the provincial town and managed it until his last days; incidentally, his disciples, and under his leadership were written icons for many churches in Tambov and Tambov lips.; from his school most of the art teachers who taught in Tambov lips.
