Artist and architect, ethnographer, philosopher, lecturer at the ceramic College from 1900 to 1928

Student Of The Academy Of Arts. In 1877 - 2 silver medal; in 1879 he graduated from the scientific course; in 1882 - 2 silver and a small incentive medal and the title of class artist of 3 degrees. (Kondakov)

Painter, graphic, architect, art historian, ethnographer, public figure and teacher. Born in Berdyansk. In 1874 – 1882 studied at the St. Petersburg Academy of arts under I. Kramskoi and Pavel Chistyakov. Was on friendly terms with N. Kuznetsov, G. Ladyzhensky, K. Kostandi. He was awarded two silver medals (1877, 1882). After AH got the title of class artist of the 3rd degree. Lived and worked in Kyiv, Volyn and Chernihiv. In 1890 he exhibited works at exhibitions TYURH. From 1900 he lived in Mirgorod, taught in Mirgorod art-industrial school (1900 – 1928). Organized Mirgorod Museum (1920). The prominent master of Ukrainian landscape. The author of the rich graphic heritage, which was reproduced in numerous editions and became a classic of Ukrainian culture. Author of articles on the history of Ukrainian folk art. Works are in the namu, HMM Kharkov, Poltava, other museums of Ukraine and Russia.
