For many talented people of the Vologda land became a second Motherland, the place where manifested themselves as the creative person. One of them was Victoria Elfina. She was born November 3, 1930 in the village of Kuzminki Ukhtomsky district in Moscow region. Graduated from Moscow art-industrial school named after M. I. Kalinin (1947-1952) and received the diploma of "designer lace", the distribution arrived in the village Novlensky Cubanisimo district of the Vologda region. Since beginning her journey associated with world-famous Vologda lace.

Decades later, Viktoriya Nikolaevna couldn't conceive my life without Vologda lace craft, and Vologda lace from the late 1950s to the 1990s, it is impossible to imagine without the work of this master. Not by chance one of her unique works – tablecloth "snowflake", vypilennaya on sketches by the author in 1959, became the hallmark of the entire fishery, and Vologda lace Association from 1968 is called "snowflake". The name itself led to a form and set of decorative elements of this piece. Four months was working on a skolkov, i.e. the layout of the future product. Two months and twenty-five lacemakers weave the individual elements of tablecloths that she Viktoriya Nikolaevna almost the same time brought into a single unit.

For twenty years (since 1953) VN.Elvina worked as an artist in the Vologda lace Association, and in 1973 led his creative laboratory. Over the years it created more than six hundred works, including dimensional lace, items of women's clothing and jewelry to household items (collars, scarves, tablecloths) decorative murals and unique exhibits. "The gift of Elpinoy – bold – says the Russian researcher braided lace V. A. Faleev, – it is peculiar sweep and power which are manifested in even small products. Creative activity of the artist is simply amazing." Perhaps the most striking and fundamental feature of her handwriting was a mix of classical traditions of Vologda lace with new forms reflecting the new time.

Thus, the favorite in the lace floral pattern gradually from a purely ornamental element into the main element of the story unique exhibition of works by Elpinoy. These include murals "Spring" the tablecloth "Bindweed" and "Bloom" made by her sketches in the 1970s, But one of the best incarnations of the theme of nature and its eternal renewal can be considered panels of "the Singing tree" (1978). In a rectangular vertical arrangement there is a large flowering tree with strong slender trunk. Its symmetrical drawing different branches are decorated with fancy flowers-rosettes. On each branch sits a bird, and none of them repeats the shape and plasticity of the other. The feeling of joy, the experience is fulfilling, and even a few exaggerated growth and flowering is created by lots of floral forms. And at the same time, major elements of the ornament, readable on complex, textured designed background. The charm of this fabulous and poetic works was noted.

For the Vologda fishery of the 1960s-1970s, as indeed to all Patriotic lace this time, characterized by the appearance of topics related to national holidays, customs, folklore and imagery, borrowed from other forms of folk art. These traits can be traced in such works of the artist as painting "Spring" the tablecloth "Tea party", where the introduction of the colored thread is in the memory of the spectator motives of national embroidery.

Elfina a lot of experimenting with color in lace, developed new patterns and backgrounds ornaments. Among the many filled with her household goods (paths, collar) no two are the same. They are different both in form and motive, and the method of weaving. Looking at her work, I feel that the artist knew the techniques and the Brussels and Venetian lace, but above all appreciated the Patriotic tradition.

A truly Grand work of the creative team of Vologda lace under the leadership of V. N. Elpinoy is the mural "Russia" (1977). It is done in collaboration with V. D. Veselova, G. N. Marowski and A. N. Rakcheyeva. Dimensions – 5x3 meters – a huge lace products. If such a value was required and a special material. It is woven from the threads McKay, elastic, slightly shiny and very durable. Russia represents a monumental, stylized figure of a woman in a sundress, located exactly in the center of the composition. All conditional: a proudly raised head – socket of a flower; hand – curved flowering branches. In the flower ornament is seamlessly interwoven with national symbols, after all, and she is a female figure, a symbol, and the rest of the details of the composition work for the explanation of the intent of the lace. Panel "Russia" met visitors to the exhibition of folk art at the exhibition center, it is adorned with a commemorative exhibition of works by Victoria Nikolaevna in Vologda, which took place in the halls of the regional art gallery in 1990

In 1968 V. N. Elvina became the laureate of the State prize of the RSFSR behalf I. E. Repin, and in 1975 for outstanding creative achievements he received the title of honored artist of the RSFSR.

After the death of the master (Viktoriya Nikolaevna died in 1998 in Vologda), her works regularly participate in major exhibitions of decorative art as we have in the country and abroad. The Merit Of V. N. Elpinoy and that she was able to gather and unite near perfect team of like-minded professionals.
